Congratulations to Klöcker Brothers for 175 years of successful business history

For more than 20 years, the Westphalian University of Applied Sciences connects a very trustworthy and fruitful collaboration with Klöcker Brothers. This began with an initiative of the Managing Director Dr. Dr. h.c. Christoph Schwemmlein, who initiated a cooperation between the Department of Business and Information Technology of the Westphalian University of Applied Sciences at the campus of Bocholt and the renowned Juniata College located in Huntingdon, Pennsylvania, USA.

The cooperation quickly led to one of the first double-degree agreements. In the course of this agreement, the students of both universities got the opportunity to study two semesters at the partner university. For that, Bocholt established a certain range of courses in the English language. Provided that both universities have seen the theses, they grant students an additional academical degree. This required a thorough evaluation of the universities’ curricula in order for both to equally acknowledge the curricula. With the conversion, the collaboration was extended to the Master level. This cooperation still involves a lively exchange of students and professors and was accompanied by Klöcker Brothers, which also provides and supervises positions for a mandatory practical semester as well as tasks for student projects.

Also based on the personal support of Dr. Schwemmlein, a cooperation agreement between the Westphalian University of Applied Sciences and the Catholic University Atma Jaya in Jakarta was concluded in 2010. In the scope of this cooperation, there is a lively exchange of students and longer guest residences of professors. Especially the collaboration offered and offers a special platform for implementation of mutual practical projects and theses, with international topics, which were contributed from Klöcker Brothers with its subsidiary in Bandung.

Beside those indirect forms of collaboration, further mutual projects developed in the area of science and development for technical challenges within the area of the Klöcker product spectrum as well as practical oriented teaching, especially in the field Management, a cooperation was established. For more than ten years are you, Mr. Dr. Schwemmlein, visiting lecturer of the subject Business and Information Technology of the Westphalian University of Applied Sciences at the campus Bocholt. Above all, he enriches the teaching offer with topics, for example International Management, Entrepreneurship and the presentation and assessment of company’s acquisitions.

We are very thankful for this long-term and successful collaboration and sincerely congratulate to 175 years company anniversary.
