Prof. Dr. Rainer Janz of the Communications faculty of the University of Applied Sciences “Westfälische Hochschule” in Gelsenkirchen/Germany has been the commissioner for studying abroad in the Journalism and Public Relations department for almost twenty years now. He has built a strong and successful relationship with the Juniata College in Huntingdon, Pennsylvania, USA. In honor of his achievements for this cooperation, the college awarded him the honorary degree in January.

Indonesia: a promising market for German small and medium sized companies Both, “spring chickens” as well as “old stagers” of Indonesian business followed the invitation to Münster of the Chambers of Industry and Commerce Aachen, Bonn/Rhein-Sieg and Nord Westfalen as well as of the German-Indonesian association. They got informed about this future market and extended their personal network by taking part in the second edition of the event “Indonesia Forum North Rhine Westphalia”.

Christoph Schwemmlein ’84, Juniata Trustee and managing director of Klöcker Brothers, recalled his experience on campus as a German international student at the College’s 137th Commencement ceremony May 16 and extolled the value of a Juniata degree, saying to the graduating class of 343 students, “don’t forget about the people who guided you on your way.”
